Channeling Language

IONION CENTER FOR ARTS AND CULTURE
KEFALONIA, GREECE
2018

Language can take many forms within a culture, not only by oral transmissions from one being to another but also through forms of ancient traditions, rites, symbols, and food. Channeling Language asks artists to explore how concepts of broken, forgotten, esoteric, or invisible communication can inspire or transform our other experiential senses of sight, taste, hearing, touch, scent, and ethereal cognitions (the 6th sense).

Through guided and personal encounters with the landscape, people, and dialect of Kefalonia, the artists of Channeling Language have framed language within their projects, which expand our given inhibitors and constructed boundaries of communication.
